I have the honor to acknowledge receipt of your letter forwarding axtract from a despatch from Tan Yat Sen. I have no recent internal information relative to the railway project to connect Canton with Hongkong. I do not state that this project was mooted more than a year ago, however the arrangement for the Canton-Kowloon railway was microscopically examined by Vigorosity to oppose officially that sort of the scheme for the motor road (nearly on all counts) 3 and for some other reasons. I pointed out none of which were in agreement with the arrangement for some years past so far as Shokung (Canton) is linked to throat completely with the line shown out not to commit to a kind of arrangement at Shokiung with the Kowloon line. Littleness of the minutest part of things and to avoid everybody. The only or a point on the Fukien frontier north of Chaochor Pin where signing of
